A 'MÁLAGA Eye' is now spinning over the Costa del Sol capital city – the second of its kind in Spain to go up this year.
The 70-metre-high big wheel is modelled on the London Eye, with air-conditioned pods seating up to eight people and offering a panoramic view over at least 30 kilometres on a clear day.
A fun and fascinating attraction likely to bring in tourists from far and wide, as well as local residents, the wheel – known as the Mirador Princess – was first set up three years ago in Pamplona in the northern region of Navarra, returning there the following year in June.
Soon afterwards, in October of the same year, it moved to Zaragoza in Aragón.
It has been set up in Málaga for the August fiestas every year since its début in 2012.
And this year, between the March Fallas festival and early May, the Mirador Princess opened in Valencia.
Unlike the London Eye, the Princess is not a permanent feature but is shifted around the country to whichever city has a major fiesta at the time.
