Een app of game openen, een snelkoppeling nog sneller kunnen bereiken of iets met slechts een korte handeling kunnen instellen, dat is iets waar veel app-ontwikkelaars mee bezig zijn. In de downloadwinkel van Google zijn er verschillende applicaties te vinden die werken met allerlei veegbewegingen om zoiets te kunnen bewerkstelligen en Corner Swipe is een nieuwe speler op de markt.

Door middel van het vegen van een bepaald patroon vanuit één van de hoeken van het scherm kun je allerlei acties koppelen aan het getekende symbool. Kwestie van de app openen en verschillende 'gesture commands' toevoegen, waarbij je uit één van de hoeken moet tekenen, waarna je de optie krijgt om er een actie aan te koppelen. Het was even kijken op de HTC One M9 en Xperia ZL, vanaf waar ik moest vegen omdat deze ook onscreen-knoppen hebben, maar uiteindelijk is het wel gelukt.

Het is even een kwestie van instellen, maar daarna kun je bijvoorbeeld binnen één kleine veeg de AW-reader openen, je browser starten of een contactpersoon direct bellen. De applicatie is ook bruikbaar op het lockscreen aldus de ontwikkelaar, maar op mijn Sony-toestel kreeg ik dit op geen enkele manier werkend, terwijl het op de One M9 weer wel werkte.

Gratis vs premium

De gratis variant moet je zien als een trial van 7 dagen waarbij je de applicatie volledig kunt gebruiken. Als je de app daarna wilt blijven gebruiken dan is een in-app-aankoop van € 1,89 nodig om de volledige versie van de app aan te schaffen.

Corner Swipe laat je met bepaalde symbolen die je kunt tekenen vanuit één van de hoeken van je scherm bijvoorbeeld een app of game openen, een contact bellen of naar een bepaalde instelling in het menu gaan. Dit werkt ook vanaf het lockscreen en laat je zodoende met één hand iets openen
