Beste Lezers,



Dat is het thema van de NPO dagen in Houten. Toen ik het thema op mij liet inwerken kwam het mij bekend voor! Ik moest het wel even uitzoeken waarom het mij bekend voorkwam. ‘In varietate concordia’. Het is niet zo dat ik nu afgestudeerd ben op Latijn, maar dit is ook het motto van de Europese Unie. Het staat voor ‘in verscheidenheid verenigd’. Ik weet niet of het toeval is maar de NPO is natuurlijk net als de EU ontstaan door een verbinding van de afdelingen. Bij de EU zijn de lidstaten, de Europese landen, met elkaar verenigd om samen sterker te staan. Dat zal ooit ook wel de bedoeling van de NPO zijn geweest, maar zijn we daar veel verder mee gekomen? Terwijl er net als bij de EU wel terdege een belangrijk voordeel te behalen is wanneer men op een hoger niveau met elkaar samenwerkt. De kunst is om balans te vinden om wat goed is voor de een, ook goed is, of wordt, voor de ander. Deze diplomatie is in de duivensport wat ingewikkelder. Wij zijn toch vooral geneigd om te kijken wat goed is voor onszelf, en daar de energie op te zetten. Betere vlieglijnen, gunstiger ligging, of indeling in een CC of rayon etc. Deze cultuur zet zich ook door op bestuursniveau. Al vaker is gememoreerd dat in deze cultuur de duivensport hard achteruit holt en dat moeten we met elkaar ombuigen. Dat betekent samenwerken, concessies doen, zaken nalaten voor het grotere belang. En dat belang is minimaal het in stand houden van onze sport.



Het nieuwe NPO bestuur is daarmee vasthoudend aan de slag gegaan en de NPO dagen staan dan ook in het teken om met elkaar in gesprek te komen en uitleg te geven aan de diverse plannen. Op verschillende plekken in de hallen is het mogelijk om met elkaar in gesprek te komen, in discussie te gaan met bestuurders. Dat kan natuurlijk alleen als u komt! Met elkaar zullen wij een goede basis moeten neerleggen en dat begint wanneer wij massaal bij elkaar komen op de plek waar het gebeurd; Houten Expo. Er is een hele verscheidenheid (daar heb je het al weer) aan activiteiten rondom onze sport waar we allemaal bij moeten zijn;

· het huldigen van onze kampioenen. Iedere sport brengt eer aan hen die kampioen geworden zijn, zodra de kampioen op het podium staat wordt hij toegejuicht en toegezongen. Dat is ook voor ons van belang;

· de mogelijkheid om lezingen bij te wonen en uitleg te krijgen zodat er meer inzicht gegeven wordt in de toekomst van onze sport;

· de diverse activiteiten voor de jeugd, om hen zoveel mogelijk aan ons te binden;

· natuurlijk de beurs, waar u op de hoogte gehouden wordt op het gebied van alle duivenproducten;

· de tentoonstelling en voorselectie voor de Olympiade, zij die een mooi duif hebben met voldoende prijskilometers kunnen hiervoor in aanmerking komen.



Kortom geen enkele reden om thuis te blijven volgend weekend. Iedereen heeft wel een paar uur over om in het stille seizoen elkaar daar op te zoeken! Het is nog gratis ook!

De hele duivenfamilie bij elkaar in Houten, net een familiereünie. Denk niet dat u het zwarte schaap van de familie bent en dat u er niet mag zijn. Hij is namelijk vorig jaar al geweest en hij vond het ook gezellig.



Volgens mij heb ik voldoende mijn best gedaan om u te overtuigen om naar Houten te komen, al was het alleen maar om bij mij in de stand die prachtige Scheurkalender voor de Postduivensport te kopen. Is dat iets nieuws? Jazeker, de sport kan alleen levendig blijven als wij hem levend houden. Dat doe je niet alleen achter het huis in je eigen duivenhok, maar ook door elkaar te helpen de sport te dienen en nieuwe dingen te bedenken. Er zijn ideeën genoeg! Graag ontmoet ik u in Houten.
