A very fine and rare George II 1 pint silver tankard of baluster form, clearly hallmarked on the base for London 1736 with the maker's mark of Richard Burcombe.
The item is ornately decorated with embossed floral motifs and boasts a beautiful scroll leaf capped handle. It has a gold gilt interior which has faded over time. There is an armorial crest and a set of engraved initials on the front of the tankard, although these are both relatively faint.
The piece is in excellent overall condition, with 1 small dent on its body (which sits underneath the handle - see photo) and a very minor dent to the base. There is no evidence of repair and only minimal age-related wear.
